It’s about a RELATIONSHIP…
- With God and with one another.
Children develop an understanding of what is fundamental to our faith. In the words of Jesus:
“…to love God with all our hearts, mind and strength and to love our neighbour as ourselves”
We help children understand how this is lived out in practical ways within their families, at school, with friends and as integral members of a faith community. Through age-appropriate stories from the Bible, and using arts and crafts, play and songs, children learn of the love of Jesus so that they can begin to develop their own relationship with him.
What to expect:
On Sunday morning your child(ren) will be welcomed by one of the Sides People to use our child friendly carpeted space. At the beginning of the service they will be invited to join the rest of the congregation with the first part of the service and participate in the Children’s Focus. Following this, they will then go to the Ascension Hall for their own time of learning and play. Just before the Eucharist begins, children are invited back to the main service to participate with their families at the altar.
BEYOND SUNDAY
First Communion
For children 6 -11 of whose parents are regular in their attendance and who are prepared to support their child in their faith walk. There are 4 sessions using the resource: Life in the Eucharist. Each session will help your child to participate and understand the significance of the Eucharist (Holy Communion) and discover the joy of living in communion with God and the community.
