The Christian Companions is a pastoral ministry committed to providing companionship to those in our community who are bound to their homes, hospitals, or retirement homes. Their ministry is based on seeking to follow the example of Jesus through one-on-one caring relationships by listening, praying, sharing, and being a presence in their lives. Approximately 28 hours per month are given to this ministry. Father Vernon LaFleur leads this group and oversees the sending of Caring Cards to sick, the bereaved, or those celebrating special birthdays, anniversaries, and occasions. The work of the Christian Companion's ministry serves to bridge the gap between the Church and senior members of the parish who cannot be involved with church life regularly.
